Dr. Butler received her Ph.D. (doctoral degree) in Counseling Psychology, with an emphasis in Health Psychology, from The University of Memphis. Her pre-doctoral internship was at the University of Florida at Shands Hospital in the Department of Clinical and Health Psychology. For over 10 years, Dr. Butler has engaged in clinical practice, teaching, and research in various settings, including medical facilities, community mental health agencies, and private psychiatric hospitals. These experiences have allowed for valuable interactions with people of different ethnicity, age, sexual orientation, cultural, and economic backgrounds. They have also allowed Dr. Butler to become skilled in addressing a wide range of concerns, particularly those with medical conditions; those interested in Bariatric surgery and weight management; and those interested in ADD, learning disability, and career assessments.
Dr. Butler regularly engages in continuing education courses and keeps up with current research findings. She also maintains memberships in the following professional organizations:

Dr. Butler enjoys traveling, cooking, and spending time with her husband and family.
